Productive Struggle

Lately we have been learning about Productive Struggle. Children are given a challenging problem and asked to work independently, with a buddy, or a small group. Today we are cutting and sorting shapes. Each student is generating his/her own idea for how to sort all of the shapes! 

Holiday Surprise!

We have been working hard on a holiday surprise for our families! We are in the holiday spirit listening to wonderful music while we work!

Today we worked in partners and painted each other's hands. We made a group plan, painted, washed hands and switched! 

Our Words

Today we read Max's Words written by Kate Banks. Max enjoyed collecting words and creating stories. We decided to find our own words in magazines and create posters with partners! 

Calendar

In November we are writing number sentences to match our days of school. We have had 47 Days of school so far. One number sentence we created was 46+1=47. We also figure out 10+10+10+10+2+1+1+1+1+1=47 using our beads on the board :)
