Maps and Globes

This week we began a new social studies unit, "Where." We started with a brainstorm of what we think we know about Maps and Globes.  

Our shared reading this week reinforces new vocabulary like "location," "country," and "state."

We are also practicing location words like "between," "above," and "below."

Changing Speed

We had a new push and pull science investigation today. We are learning about changing speed. We used a clipboard with blocks to create a ramp. The more blocks we added the higher the ramp. Ask us if our car goes faster or slower with 1,2,or 3 blocks in our ramp. 

Productive Struggle

Today we worked with partners to sort math pictures. We had to make a plan, cut, sort and glue. Look at how many different ideas we had!

Today we worked with partners to compare shapes. We used math vocabulary like "more, less, sides, corners, taller," and "shorter."

Push and Pull

 This week we started a new science unit, Push and Pull. Today we built our own ramps and tested hard and soft pushes. We recorded our observations in our science notebooks and labeled our picture. :)
