Reading Celebrations

Room 109 finished our first unit in Readers Workshop! Students are working hard everyday! We learned all about being a book lover, different parts of a book, elbow partners, and 3 different ways we can be a reader! Here are some of our anchor charts to help us remember what's expected:

Today we celebrated all of our hard work as readers. We snuggled up with our rest materials and looked at some of our favorite books with an elbow partner. Look at all of the Kindergarten readers!

Conference Sign Ups

Dear Families,

Below is the link to sign up for parent teacher conferences.  Please be sure to select "Miss O'Brien" as your child's teacher. Please sign up for your three preferred dates and times as soon as possible.  I plan to let families know the specific date and time of the conference on October 17th.  Families who complete the sign ups before October 14th will be prioritized.  Please let me know if there are any difficulties with the sign up process.

Curriculum Night/Open House

Readers Workshop

We have been learning all about becoming a reader! We are respectful readers who love books :) We have also been learning about sharing our thoughts and ideas with our "elbow partners." Here are some of the anchor charts we made as a class-

Safety Patrols

Today we began safety patrols. Responsible students from the 5th grade were chosen and assigned to bring Kindergarten students to their classrooms in the morning. The students met their buddies last Thursday and again this morning for their first patrol. If you are dropping your child off in the morning, please be sure to drop off at the door # 13 on Elm Street. Safety patrols (and a teacher) should be ready and waiting to greet you. Please be sure to be on time.  Door #13 (the Kindergarten door) will be open from 8:50-9:05.  Thank you!
