Fundations

Today we introduced our phonics program, Fundations.  Kindergarteners learned lots of new skills already! Our friend Echo the Owl helps us repeat after the teacher. Lines on our papers have pictures to help us remember where to begin and end our letters.  Here we are practicing the Sky Line, Plane Line, Grass Line, Worm Line game!

We practiced Kindergarten pencil grip with partners and used dry erase markers to draw straight lines from each line on the paper. Ask your Kindergartener what noise a marker makes to know when it's closed :)

Safety Drill

Good afternoon,

At Stapleton Elementary School emphasis is placed on safety in every area of school. To that point, Lockdown drills are held several times a year to ensure that students and staff know exactly how to respond by following our School Emergency  Procedures. Today, the Framingham Police Department conducted a lockdown drill and we are proud to say that our staff and students did an excellent job following our safety protocol.

Thank you,

Stapleton's Administrative Team

Wednesday Fun!

Today was our first day of literacy centers.  Students worked hard to build their name out of play doh, stamp their name with letter stamps, and build name puzzles.  Kindergarteners even practiced building each others names!

After literacy centers, students earned time to explore our math manipulatives.  We had fun playing and learning and we did an awesome job cleaning up!
